How can you lose weight? Breath it out.
I recently watched a TED talk about - The mathematics of weight loss by Ruben Meerman. His claim is that you are breathing out 84% of the fat as a CO2, and 16% is excreted as water, H2O. Therefore, if you want to lose 10 kg, you actually have to breath out 8.4 kilograms of it!
So yes, you are breathing out the fat from your body. It doesn't disappear through magic. Meaning, you have to move your self more and eat less. No, it doesn't count to just breathe faster, that is called hyperventilation! Not a good idea.
Why am I even reading about this subject? Because the highest precent of Google searches last year was, yes, how to lose weight. The answer is pretty easy as you see. But why can we not do it? Why is it so hard. And here is the answere by Tony Robbins: Because we actually associate it with pain. Our controlling power in our life is to avoid pain and gain more pleasure. If we just could recreate our emotions to losing weight as something pleasurable, probably the this kind of problem would not exist.
"Use pain and pleasure instead of letting pain and pleasure use you!"
I mean, what are you doing when you decide to lose weight. You put your mind and body in a starvation mood and probably work out a month or two like crazy. And you suffer. Change your thoughts! When you want to take that blueberry muffin with your latte, think about how wonderful it would be to be able to take that beautiful dress you saw in the store the other day. Think about it, visualise it and FEEL it. It's gives your brain pleasure and if you put more and more pleasure to this picture of a smaller you, the easier it will be to achieve it.
Think about the things that you can not do, that you don't like about your weight. Make a list! Then make a Good Feeing List. What would it feel like to be that other one!!!
Forget your ideal about the feelings, about suffering to get something good! Why not have some fun on the way instead?!
